THE EVENT

Entering its 24th year, the Charlotte SouthPark Turkey Trot is Charlotte’s longest-running road race event. But more than that, it’s a Charlotte Thanksgiving Day tradition for families and friends and a happy and healthy way to start off one of the best days of the year!

Thanks to the support of our participants and sponsors, we’ve got something for everyone to join in on! And, as always, our commitment to maintaining a first-class event for our participants is our highest priority.
 
Race Direction 
Event technical direction is managed by Danny White and his team at RMS Sports.
Plus great help from Scott Dvorak and Neil Howard. We have the best team working together, we want to make sure that everyone has a Great Race!

NO DROP-OFF REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER 11/19.

A separate entry form is required for each person entering the Charlotte Turkey Trot. All fees are non-refundable. Make checks payable to RMSSports. T-Shirts are ONLY guaranteed to preregistered (by 11/19/12) participants of the 8K, 5K Walk and 1 Mile Fun Run, and then on a first-come, first-serve basis until quantities are gone.

Tot Trot participants will receive a medal. & New this year Youth size Tshirts!

Registered participants can make changes to their registration up until November 18th. After that changes can be made at packet pickup on Wednesday, November 21st, but there will be a $10 fee. There will be no changes allowed on race day. 

T-SHIRTS

For the very first time the Charlotte South Park Turkey Trot is pleased to offer participants the option of getting a regular 100% Cotton long-sleeve T-shirt, OR (for an additional $15) a high quality New Balance technical long-sleeve T-shirt (a $30 value).

  1. Four (4) or more of any adult type registration - $2.00 off of each registration
  2. Six (6) or more of any adult type registration - $3.00 off of each registration
  3. Eight (8) or more of any adult type registration - $4.00 off of each registration

Rules

  1. Limited to immediate family members only (same surname) in the 8k, 5k &1mile events, Tot Trot not included!
  2. Family discounts must be mailed together or dropped off at Charlotte Running Company
  3. No family discount will be offered week of event
How to register for the Family Discount
 
Participants who wish to take advantage of the Family Discount Program must use Mail-In or Drop Off  Registration only. You may not use Online Registration for the Family Discount Program. Simply add up the normal fees for all participants and then manually take the applicable discounts when calculating your total paymentamount.

TOT TROT: registration is $10.00 until 11/15 and $12.00 after that. New this year all children receive youth size tshirts and finishers medals. Children ages walking through 6 years old will run a children’s marathon distance of 26.2 yards beginning at 10 a.m. Children will compete within their own age divisions.

RACE WEEK SCHEDULE

Packet Pick-up will take place on Wednesday, November 21st from 1pm to 7pm at Southpark Mall in Front of Dicks Sporting Goods and Sympony Park in a big Tent also Post Race Festivities are located here in Symphony park, just off Barkley Downs.
 
PACKET MAILED- Save time! You can opt to have your complete packet mailed to you with bib#, Tshirt and packet items. The majority of this fee is going to the processing the mailouts and to charity. Deadline to participate is Nov. 2, 2012.

Available in multiple open lots at the SouthPark Mall. Please DO NOT PARK at the Doubletree Hotel or Marriott hotels! Hotel parking is for hotel guests only. Thanks!

OUR CHARITABLE PARTNERS
 
A portion of race proceeds from the Charlotte Turkey Trot goes to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training, Partners for Parks and the Sharon United Methodist Church Youth Ministry.
 
Additionally, the 2012 Charlotte Turkey Trot is funding the Charities Fund through the Race Packet Mailing Option.  Have your complete packet mailed (Bib#, Tshirt and packet items). Registration Deadline is Nov. 2, 2012 for $25.
 
THE COURSE

Course Description and Runner Support

Our course starts next to Southpark Mall and finishes in the SouthPark Mall in front of Dicks and beside the Symphony park.  Participants will enjoy a safe and scenic run through South Charlotte. For a detailed course map, please visit our website. Water stops will be positioned on the course. Portable restrooms will be stationed at the Start/Finish line area and at the midway point of the 8K.

TIMING

Chronotrack timing will be used for the 8K event. Chronotrack uses disposable chips, allowing for fast and accurate timing.

POST-RACE ACTIVITIES

Stick around after you finish your event to cheer others on and enjoy food and drink with friends and family. Awards will be handed out and WLYT 102.9 will be on-site playing great music!

EVENT PHOTOGRAPHY

Our official race photographer is Carolina Snapshot. Pictures will be available at www.carolinasnapshot.com within 4 days of the event.

RUNNER AWARDS

8K awards ceremony will be held for the top 3 Male and Female Overall winners and the top Male and Female Masters winners. Age group awards will also be given in the 8K. There will be no duplication of awards.
 
Finisher's Medals willbe given to all Finishers!
 
RESULTS

Race results will be posted assoon as possible at the post-race site and on the web at www.charlotteturkeytrot.com and www.rmssports.com.
